Principal's Message

August 17, 2011

Dear Santa Susana families and community,

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year. My name is Jason Peplinski and I am honored to serve as the next Principal of Santa Susana High School. I would like to take this opportunity to briefly introduce myself.

I hail from the Midwest (Michigan) and moved to California in the 90's where I began teaching at Quartz Hill High School. I then became a teacher at Moorpark High School before starting my first Assistant Principal position at Royal High School. Next, I was the Principal of Lincoln Elementary School and later returned to Moorpark High School, where I served as principal the past two years.

As a teacher, I taught IB Spanish, AP Spanish, Biology, Chemistry, Choir, Drama, and leadership at different times in my teaching career. I was also a varsity volleyball coach as well as teaching gymnastics locally in Simi Valley. I am a patron of the arts and a life- long student. Currently, I am a member of the Doctoral Cohort at California Lutheran University.

I am often asked how parents or families can contribute to SSHS and I have several suggestions. First, please join the PTSA. Their efforts benefit all students. You can also ensure that your students are in school each day on time. Finally, ask your student's teachers how you can contribute to the classroom.

Again, welcome to the new school year. I look forward to an exciting year and to meeting all of you. You have chosen a fine academic institution for your student. Santa Susana is proud to have such a talented/academic student body and staff.

Sincerely,

Jason Peplinski, Principal
