Sexual Assault or Battery Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal, visual, or physical conduct of a sexual nature, made by any employee, volunteer, or student in the school district
Assault Against A Person Unlawful attempt, coupled with a present ability, to commit a violent injury on the person of another Suspension for one (1) to five (5) days; Possible recommendation for transfer to another school; Possible recommendation for expulsion; Possible referral to Simi Police Department; Consequences applied depend on the severity of the student's behavior and the frequency of such behavior
Battery Any willful and unlawful use of force or violence upon a person
Assault With A Deadly Weapon Any person who commits an assault with a deadly weapon
Possession of a weapon any kind. This includes, knives, look-alike weapons, or any dangerous object
Fighting Mutual combat in which both parties have contributed to the situation by verbal and/or physical action
Sexual Harassment Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal, visual acts made by any employee, volunteer, or student in the school district
Bullying/Threatening//Harassment Any physical, spoken, or written act of abuse, violence, harassment, intimidation, extortion, the use of vulgarity, cursing, making remarks of a personally destructive nature toward any other person, and any restriction or prevention of free movement of an individual
Bullying/Threatening//Harassment Participating in, or conspiring to engage in, harassing acts that injure, degrade or disgrace
Gang associations for the purpose of intentionally harassing, threatening or intimidating a student or group of students to the extent of having the actual and reasonably expected effect of materially disrupting classwork, creating substantial disorder and invading student rights by creating an intimidating or hostile educational environment
Acts That Interfere with Private Lives of School Employees Suspension for one (1) to five (5) days; Possible recommendation for transfer to another school; Possible recommendation for expulsion; Possible referral to Simi Police Department; Consequences applied depend on the severity of the student's behavior and the frequency of such behavior
Interference/Obstruction Any action taken to attempt to prevent a staff member from exercising lawful assigned duties
Threats over the Internet; Including harassment or intimidation
Violation of the district/ school Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and or cell phone use. Cell phones must be turned off at all times when student is in a classroom. Students may only use cell phones before and after school, during lunch and at passing times. Conference with student and/or parent; one (1) to five (5) day suspension; possible revocation of use of school computers and/or cell phone
Theft or Possession of school or private property Conference with student and/or parent; and/or one (1) to five (5) day suspension, referral to the police and/or restitution for defaced, destroyed or stolen property.
Tagging, Graffiti or Vandalism
Possession or use of any of the following: dangerous drugs, unauthorized controlled substance, alcohol Conference with student and/or parent and/or one (1) to five (5) day suspension, Consequences applied depend on the severity of the student's behavior and the frequency of such behavior
Possession of Fireworks, smoke bombs, or stink bombs
Willful disobedience, defiance of authority, disruptive behavior
Academic dishonesty, cheating, changing grades, plagiarism, etc.
Leaving Campus without permission of school
Possession of or use of tobacco on school grounds
Being in a group where tobacco, alcohol, or any other discovered illegal substance is evident
Knowledge of weapon dangerous object without notifying school authorities
Making, possessing or selling false identification; forgery
Gambling, Vulgarity, Profanity
Detention Violation
Failure to complete consequence issued
Misbehavior on school bus
Dress Code Violations at School and/or Related Function Conference with student and/or parent and/or one (1) to five (5) day suspension, Consequences applied depend on the severity of the student's behavior and the frequency of such behavior
Students are not to be in the hallway during class time unless they have a hall pass or an out-of-class permit
Students must always carry their school I.D. when on campus and at all school events
This school is a closed campus during the regular school day. Possession of laser pointers, walkie talkie, or police scanners
