School Wide Action Plan – Component 1

"Going from Good to Great!"

Component 1 – Standards Based Student Outcome: Students will demonstrate proficiency of the essential standards in all content areas.

Rationale:
  1. Improved API is a state requirement and reflects student mastery of standards and the meeting of our AYP.
  2. Test data, discussion and recommendations from the staff support the need to continue to refine its standards-based curriculum, instruction and assessment.
  3. Students are expected to reach proficiency of the content standards as measured by the State and NCLB.

Annual Goals and Benchmarks: All students will meet state and NCLB growth targets annually.
SSHS will recognize an annual increase in the number of students who reach proficiency of the CST in English, Math, Science and Social Studies.
The number of foreign language students who qualify for advancement to the next level will increase annually.

Report Progress:

Administrators and the leadership team will report progress to parents, staff, and students annually in September and to staff at regular Friday Morning Meetings (FMMs)

  2. % improvement in Math , English, Science and Social Studies CST
  3. Classroom grades
  4. Increased enrollment in upper level academic electives
Frequency:

The Leadership team will meet quarterly to discuss progress and review data. Modifications and revisions to the action steps will be made as needed to ensure achievement of the growth targets.
