Component 3 – Smaller Learning Communities (SLCs): Continue to refine the School and Academy structure as a foundation for student success in all curricular areas.

Rationale:
  1. Research indicates that SLCs connect students to one another via interest-based programs and provides a connection to school
  2. In response to NCLB, SSHS recognizes the effect that Smaller Learning Communities has on student achievement
  3. A School-to-Career component adds relevance to curriculum and prepares students for postsecondary life in the twenty-first century

Report Progress:
Administrators will report progress to the larger Santa Susana High School community during regular weekly, monthly and quarterly meetings. Board and district meetings will provide opportunities for progress reports. Parent nights and newsletters will keep all stakeholders up to date on progress.
